At Enchanting Cavaliers, we raise American Kennel Club Registered King Charles Cavalier Spaniels in a loving and caring environment. Recognized as an AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. Breeder. Dedicated to following a responsible breeding program, our focus is providing our puppies a new forever home where each is happy, healthy and loved.
We've studied and learned a lot about the breeding process since we brought Lady Izzabelle in 2016 and Sir Bailey in 2018 into our home, making the decision to breed Cavaliers to provide our clients with the highest quality, healthy socialized puppies we can.
Today our Cavalier boys and girls total 18 living here with us in our home in Gloucester, Virginia. Each boy and girl were hand selected from a small group of trusted Cavalier breeders across the United States. Each handpicked boy or girl that joins our Cavalier family has an outstanding pedigree, DNA tested clear, health certified by veterinarians with extensive breed knowledge, along with an outstanding outgoing disposition.
Most recently, our additions to our Cavalier breeding program have diversified backgrounds that include Russian, Ukrainian, and Hungarian breeding lines to help dilute potential genetic flaws that maybe present in strict US based lines.
Our core values are Morals, Ethics, and Integrity. We operate with complete transparency, and there are never any surprises in the placement process.
Every conversation, health record, and price is shared openly from the first inquiry through the day your puppy comes home. You will always know exactly where you stand, what comes next, and why we make the decisions we make.
We raise our puppies in the home with adult dogs, not in an impersonal kennel. Our puppies are socialized around people and other animals early on.
Puppies grow up underfoot in a busy family home — household sounds, visitors, children, and a pack of gentle adult Cavaliers who help teach them manners. That early socialization is why our puppies settle so easily into new homes.
We are a small-scale, highly reputable breeder who puts great care into raising puppies and into choosing the families they are placed with.
Enchanting Cavaliers is selective and operates with integrity, not volume of puppy sales. We plan a limited number of litters each year so every puppy and every family receives our full attention.
If an owner can no longer care for their dog due to moving, illness, or death, we will always take the dog back and find it a new, loving home.
Life changes, and no Enchanting Cavalier should ever end up in a shelter. Our door stays open for the whole life of the dog, and we personally rehome returning dogs with another carefully qualified family.
We exclusively breed Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, which allows us to maintain strong bloodlines and uphold AKC purebred standards.
Focusing on one breed also protects the calm, loving, and mellow temperament Cavaliers are known for. We know these lines intimately — their health history, their structure, and their personalities.
We are not just selling puppies — we are building long-term relationships among our Cavalier client families.
Our business thrives on referrals and returning clients thanks to the quality of care, transparency, and professionalism we bring to placement. We are proud to have placed the first, second, and third Cavalier puppy in a client's home over the years.
We typically keep four to six breeding females and up to four male stud dogs, with selective mating that can produce puppies in all four breed colors.
The remaining Cavaliers living with us are puppies selected to join our breeding program or dogs enjoying retirement. On occasion we match a retiree with a qualified and deserving client so the two can share each other's company.
We actively promote responsible breeding and nutrition, mentoring new breeders as they adopt this model.
Our proven, tested male Cavaliers have fathered litters with other local breeders as those breeders walk through the methodology practiced here at Enchanting Cavaliers.
We love our puppies as much as we love our own children. If you are ever unable to keep your Cavalier, we welcome them back into our home.
All Enchanting Cavaliers puppies are born and raised in the home from day one — never in a kennel setting — and that commitment does not end the day they leave for their new family.
